Thermometer
After traveling ______, am I hotter or colder?
Valid answers: Hotter, Colder.
These questions should be answered within 5 minutes.
In exchange for answering these questions, the hider should normally Draw 2, Pick 1 card.
Available Thermometers
- 400 m
- 1 km
- 5 km
- 15 km (Only in Medium or Large games)
- 75 km (Only in Large games)
Thermometer Mechanics
- The Seekers must decide on which thermometer they are using.
- They must then announce to the hider that they are starting a thermometer, including which thermometer they are using.
- They must then move at least that distance before asking the question.
- The seekers can only start one thermometer at a time
- They can cancel a thermometer at any time before ending it, just by announcing that.
The seekers are not considered to have asked a question until the end of the thermometer. This implies that:
- The seekers may ask other questions as normal during a thermometer.
- The hider cannot draw cards.
- The seekers cannot end the thermometer if they are blocked from asking questions.
If the seekers ask the question before moving the declared distance, then the question is considered asked, the reward is given, and the hider returns a null answer.
Randomising Thermometers
When the question is asked at the end of the thermometer, the hider may choose to randomise it.
- If the randomised thermometer is smaller than the original, then the seekers have to use up that thermometer instead.
- If the randomised thermometer is larger than the original, then the seekers can choose either to retract the question and try to reach the distance, or consider it asked and recieve a null answer.
- Either way the hider gets the reward
