Valid answers: Hider Closer, Hider Further.

Most of these questions are covered by the Taibeled app, and the logic of that app is what counts for this round. In case the hider and seekers are the same distance, then this counts as “Hider Closer”.

These questions should be answered within 5 minutes.

In exchange for answering these questions, the hider should normally Draw 3, Pick 1 card.

Measuring Questions Not In The App

International Border / OSM Zone Border

These questions measure to the nearest border of the county or OSM Zone that each team is at. They don’t have to be in the same zone.

An OSM zone, or just zone is an OpenStreetMap Zone, the meaning of which can vary by country.

The official Jet Lag term for these is Administrative Divisions

For 🇩🇪 Germany games, the zones we allow are:

4 - Bundesland
6 - Landkreise (Districts)
8 - Gemeinden (Municipalities)

For 🇳🇱 Netherlands games, the zones we allow are:

4 - Provinces
8 - Gemeenten (Municipalities)

Sea Level

This question requires the seekers to supply their altitude as measured on one of the seekers’ GPSes. It should be on the most accurate reading possible. The hider must also determine their altitude using a GPS. For avoidance of doubt: 10m above sea level is closer than 12m below sea level.

Body of Water

The measurement is to the nearest edge of the body of water.

In general, a body of water should be marked as such in your mapping application, and the water should be visible. It should be publicly accessible, though if a fee is required (e.g. a public pool) then standing outside the entrance counts. It should also be uncovered. If a body of water is partially covered (e.g. a canal going through a tunnel), only the uncovered section counts for the purposes of this game. If the body of water requires a button to be pressed or a valve to be opened for the water to be visible, such as a drinking fountain, then it doesn’t count. The body of water must have water in it: dry fountains, rivers, etc. don’t count.
